About Deborah

Deborah finds inspiration in the arts and in the simple, tactile rhythms of everyday creativity. She plays the viola and the kantele—the traditional Finnish national instrument—and enjoys pottery, where the patience and balance of working with clay mirror the flow of music and storytelling. She also finds grounding in caring for houseplants and gardening, where creativity takes a quieter, more reflective form.

An educator, communicator, and storyteller at heart, Deborah founded Legato Content Solutions on the belief that communication—like music—should flow smoothly and connect people. With advanced degrees in theology and music education, she brings a rare combination of insight, empathy, and creative clarity to her work.

Her career has centered on helping people make meaning from complex ideas—first through teaching and leadership, and now through visual storytelling. At Legato, she continues that focus by helping organizations transform their ideas and written materials into clear, compelling narratives that inform, inspire, and endure.

Outside of work, Deborah finds balance through Orangetheory Fitness, Portland Opera, and live theater—places where movement, music, and story come together much like they do in her own creative work.
